Halo: Reach is expected to deliver an experience that not only speaks highly of its developer, but also of the technological capabilities and commercial identity of its home platform. Unlike Halo 3: ODST which was built upon Bungie’s 2007 engine. The developer tells Edge that its next shooter is already “bending the Xbox as far as it’ll bend.”

“We are… taking every advantage of everything on the CPU and GPU, and every bit of memory in order to produce the look of Reach beyond anything of Halo 3, ” creative director Marcus Lehto noted, attributing the evolution — which also benefits the size of environments and complexity of the AI — to increased understanding of the hardware. “We’re pushing it as far as we can go,” Lehto said. “With every iteration we understand what more we can exploit with the hardware.”

Microsoft has announced the Xbox Live Marketplace content schedule for December. The Deals of the Week — usually long-forgotten or unwanted DLC — are actually real deals this month. In particular, Shadow Complex will be dropped from 1200 ($15) to 800 ($10) during the week of December 21. The following week, starting December 28, Twisted Pixel’s The Maw will fall from 800 ($10) to a low 400 ($5). Although $10 is a good price for Shadow Complex but you could also get it free at Free Live Codes.

In addition to the normal Deals of the Week, Microsoft will also be offering daily deals from December 18-31. The company didn’t specify what any of those deals will be, though it promises discounts on “games, movies, blockbuster game add-ons, holiday themes, you name it!” We’ll be keeping our eye on things once the deals start dropping.

The 1.06 update not only fixes the Javelin glitch but also fixes two other multilayer exploits:
